Do You Have Your Attorney On Speed Dial?
I was watching a T. V. program one night, when one of the characters asks his doctor for his home phone number because it will make him feel better. The doctor is befuddled by his request. He can't think of a response other than I do give out my home phone number to patients, but after the character practically begs for the home number the doctor finally gives in and instructs his secretary to provide him with the phone number.
I don't think anyone would ever think about asking for their doctor's home phone number after seen this sitcom. I would never consider asking any of my doctors for their mobile phone numbers, but hey that's just me!
On the other hand, my clients don't hesitate to ask me for my mobile phone number. Additionally, when I'm not in the office my staff provides my cellular phone number so anyone may talk to me about their case. My feeling is that a client should be able to reach their criminal defense attorney when they want to talk about their case. I guess that 's one of the many differences between doctors and lawyers.
